Atlanta, Georgia-  On what seemed to be a cool comfortable September first early fall afternoon, about a dozen people stood waving signs protest the recent board decision to change the terms of Joe Patten who has lived in the Fox Theatre for over thirty years.  Nicknamed the “Phantom of the Fox”, Patten gained the space after his work to restore and save the famed hotel.  Thirty years ago he was given a lease that allowed him to live in the famed hotel for life.

Atlanta, Georgia- As part of the Luminaries Series lecture on the campus of Emory University, Walter Mirisch spoke on his impact and experience in the golden era of Hollywood.  Centering on his book, I Thought We Were Making Movies, Not History, Mirisch introduced the screening of his classic hit, In the Heat of the Night.  This particular movie has shaped a large portion of his career.
