“I am not a career
politician and will not be bought…”
Frank Gilmour is a
member of the Libertarian Party who considers
himself “a fiscal conservative and liberal on
our rights.”
In this interview
with PurePolitics.com, Frank Gilmour expresses
his views on why the two main parties fail to
consider the voters’ best interests. He also
talks about his views on immigration, Iraq,
the environment, and much more.
1. What has
inspired you to run for a seat in the Senate?
I am running because the
voters need another choice, and by electing me
the voter gets checks and balances. Spending
is out of control and all the two main parties
give us is partisan bickering and blaming the
other as they spend money we don't have. It
has to stop. Just think of what a vote for
me can do. It gives me six years to prove I am
the best person for the job and sends a
message that will be heard loud and clear
ENOUGH is ENOUGH.
2.
You have been
quoted as saying you are not a "career
politician." Why do you feel it is important
to send this message to the citizens of
Missouri?
A career politician is a
representative that has forgotten who the real
special interest group is "the voter".
3.
What is your stance
on immigration and how would you successfully
implement your policy?
No Amnesty, No Fence and
No to using the National Guard. Its a waste of
money and will not solve the problem. We have
to look at the immigration process and the
needs of business.
4.
If elected, what
strides would you take to reduce government
spending and lower the National Debt?
Both parties are guilty of spending to much
money, We have to live within our means. No to
deficit spending, No to Ear Marks/Pork Barrel
spending. ENOUGH is ENOUGH.
5. With all the
headlines and spotlight global warming has
received, what do you feel needs to be done in
order to protect our environment?
We have to live here and I want our children
and grandchildren to enjoy a clean environment
and that has to start with us and what we do
in the future. Clean renewable energy is on
its way. We need more private investment and
less government interference.
6. What is your
stance on the War in Iraq, and what changes
would you make to the policy adopted by the
current Administration?
We need to get out and let the people of Iraq
run their own country. I would quit charging
the tax payer for this and make Iraq pay the
"whole cost” including restitution to the
fallen.
7. What other
issue do you feel strongly about and would
address if elected?
Stem Cell research has the potential to
eliminate diseases and rebuild specific organs
this will benefit everyone from birth to
grave.
