Gore
Medicare
prescription drug proposal-Gore would like for you
to be able to go to your own doctor and have your doctor
choose your prescription. Then you go to your own pharmacy,
and Medicare pays half the cost. If you're in a very poor
family or you have very high costs, Medicare will pay all
the costs -- a $25 premium and much better benefits than you
can possibly find in the private sector.
Abortion-Gore
is for a woman's right to choose. Would support a ban on
partial-birth abortion if the health or life of the women
were at risk. (Pro-Choice)
Education-voluntary
national tests in the fourth grade and eighth grade, hire
100,000 new teachers, new accountability standards for
teachers, improve schools.
Surplus
Policy- Gore would like to have targeted middle
class tax cuts, pay down the debt and improve upon Welfare
Reform.
Bush
Social
Security- Bush wants to give workers the option, at
their choice, of being able to manage some of their own
money in the private sectors to make sure there's a Social
Security system
around tomorrow.
Abortion-
Bush believes that every child, born and unborn, ought to be
protected in law and welcomed into life. He is against
partial-birth abortion. (Pro-life)
Military-
Bush would like to have a billion dollar pay raise for the
men and women who wear the uniform to ensure that the troops
are well housed and well equipped. Bush would like to
include bonus plans to keep some of our high-skilled folks
in the services; and a commander in chief who clearly sets
the mission, and the mission is to fight and win war, and,
therefore, prevent war from happening in the first place.
Education-
Bush would like to change Head Start into a reading program.
He would also like to consolidate federal programs to free
districts, have mandatory testing and vouchers for school
choice.
