What distinguishes you from your opponents?
I think
you should be able to run your life as you see fit and I
also
think the only legitimate purpose of government is to
protect us and our property against fraud or assault. Ron
Kind strongly believes in
redistribution of wealth. Bill Arndt apparently believes
that you can
legislate morality.

What is the greatest challenge of public service?
It takes many
more hours of dedication than most people realize and you
are
always being scrutinized.

What is the most important issue facing the State of MI?
Taxes, Taxes,
Taxes. We need to get them lowered. And that will take
politicians with the guts to say no to more and more social
programs. High
taxes keep industry from moving here.

What advice would you give someone thinking of running for
public office?
Start raising
money now, unfortunately you will need a lot of it. Don't
make
any plans the year of the election. And be honest all the
time.

What is your favorite political book?
The Law by
Frederic Bastiat.

What was your favorite political TV program?
I don't watch TV but
my favorite movie is Braveheart.

How did you become involved in the (L) Party?
I became
interested in the party during the presidential campaign of
Harry
Browne in 2000 and decided to run as a libertarian upon the
suggestion of
the State Libertarian Party.
8. Who are your political mentors? What are some of your
favorite political quotes?
George
Washington is my favorite, but all the founders were great
men. My
Favorite quote is from Samuel Adams "If ye love wealth
greater than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating
contest of freedom,
go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council,
nor your arms.

9. Will the U.S. invade Iraq by December 2002? Should
they invade?
No.
10. If you were in Congress today, what would be your first
bill to sponsor?
I would
co-sponsor Ron Paul's bill to get us out of the United
Nations. I
would introduce a bill to repeal the "Patriot Act"
11. Why should the citizens of the State of WI elect you
on Nov. 5th, 2002?
Because if we
keep letting government grow at it's current rate. The tax
rate in a few generations will be one hundred percent. The
other party
"Republicrats" always promise lower taxes and less
government but obviously
that doesn't happen.
12. What are three legislative bills in the U.S. House
that you support and why?
I would
support the bill to get us out of the UN because UN
membership robs us of our national sovereignty.
I would support the
bill to partially privatize Social Security because it's
a good start to full privatization.
I would support the bill make the repeal of the estate tax
permanent because
any may we can keep rolling back taxes is a step in the
right direction.
13. What is your view on the recent Enron debacle? Will
the new federal law be effective?
Laws were
broken and now the people who broke the laws should have
their
assets sold off to pay back victims of these crimes and the
people who
committed the crimes should be behind bars. Congress need
not make any new laws. The laws already in place should be
enforced.

Did you support the House Tax Cuts?
Yes. Any tax cut is a
good tax cut.
15. What type of Health Care reform is needed in the U.S.
today?
Deregulation is
the only way to save our health care system.
16. How do you improve education in MI and around the
U.S.?
Easy, get the
federal government out of the education business and let
State
and local governments fund and control their own schools.
