1.
What distinguishes you from your opponents?
I belong to the
only national political party whose platform and policies
are totally constitutional, whose goal is the
restoration of our Republic to its biblical and
constitutional principles. We are the only party
whose candidates all pledge to totally support our 100%
pro-life policy.
2. How long have
you been involved in politics? Do you remember the first
time you voted?
Ten years. I
suppose that I first voted for Richard Nixon, though I'm no
longer sure.
3. What is the
greatest challenge of public service?
The opportunity to
lend our voice to the saving of our sovereignty and our
Republic. The only call that has been stronger in
my life is the call to share the Gospel with others.
4. What is the
most important issue facing the 16th District?
Educating the
public that the Constitution never provided for a federal
government of unlimited funds and continual handouts.
5. What advice
would you give someone thinking of running for public
office?
To read the U.S.
Constitution, and the Federalist Papers, and to fully
abide by the Constitution.
6. What is your
favorite political book?
None Dare Call It
Treason---25 Years Later, by John A. Stormer
7. What was your
favorite political TV program?
I am not a TV fan. I
find little of accuracy, truth, or value therein. "Conservative
Roundtable" on cable reflects my beliefs and values.
8. How did you
become involved in the (C) Party?
My wife and I
became thoroughly disgusted with the "one-party
system" in Washington, each major party going the same
direction, over the cliff. The U.S. Taxpayers Party,
now the Constitution Party, offered true constitutional and
conservative policies and values. It was what we
had been looking for.
9. Who are your
political mentors?
Howard Phillips. William
K. Shearer.
10. Will the U.S. invade
Iraq by December 2002? Should they
invade?
Only God knows the
future. I am not a prophet. There is
no conceivable right for the U.S. to be an aggressor. Meddling
in foreign governments and religious wars has brought us
pain, near bankruptcy, and many enemies.
11. If you were in
Congress today, what would be your first bill to
sponsor?
H.R. 1146,
Withdrawal from the United Nations.
12. Why should the citizens of the
16th District elect you on Nov. 5th,
2002?
That I might add my
voice to the restoration of our Republic. Also,
Congress needs to provide leadership for our nation to
return to God or face
judgment.
13.
How do we improve the election process in the United States?
Get the federal
government out of the process and allow the States to
take charge of their own elections. Repeal the
Voting Rights Act. Abolish
the Federal Election Campaign Act and the Federal Election
Commission.
The McCain/Feingold bill is unconstitutional, denying First
Amendment rights.
14. How do we improve Healthcare in
the United States?
Federal government
meddling in health, properly called "socialized
medicine," is foreign to our system. We are
a Republic, not a socialistic
nation. Return to our once very successful free
enterprise system. Health is a personal issue. States
and localities should take their responsibility. Return
our Tenth Amendment rights to the people. For those who wish
to totally control people, health care provides a very
convenient method.
15. What is your goal if elected in the first 100 days of
office?
To lend my voice to
sane, sensible, constitutional government. To
voice my "nay" to all unconstitutional proposals
to spend taxpayers money or to print more bogus money.
16.
What type of corporate reform would you like to see?
We are not a
fascist, socialist, or communist nation that the state
should own or exert control over corporate business. In
a free land, businessmen with their investors, clients and
customers should be able to regulate and manage their own
affairs without government interference.
17. What are three legislative
bills in the U.S. House that you support and
why?
H.R. 1146 -Withdrawal from the United Nations
H.R. 5013 - Immigration Reform
18. What is your view on the recent
Enron debacle? Will the new federal law
be effective?
Federalized
humanistic education in America has all but destroyed
morality. New laws will never answer the need of
our leaders in business and government. Until our
people turn from money and materialism as their gods,
corruption will continue. God cannot bless an
America that has turned their back on Him.
19. What is your view on the
influence of "faith" on politics?
It was good enough
for our Founding Fathers and it is good enough for me. I
am an unashamed Christian/Americanist. I live by
faith, not by sight.
