1. What distinguishes you from your
opponents?
I am the only one who is in the race who doesn't need the
job, the money or
the ego trip. Am also beholden to no special interest group
as I do not
accept PAC money, corporate money or special interest
money. I'm in this
for our kids and grand-kids.
2. What is the greatest
challenge of public service?
Keeping focused on what's good for the nation.
3. What is the most important
issue facing the 5th District?
Based on what feedback I get at political forums, it's
saving social
security and health care related problems
4. What advice would you give
someone thinking of running for public
office?
Do it for the right reasons and be prepared for a long,
uphill battle!
5. What is your favorite
political book?
I have read them all, but especially learn from biographies
of our founding
fathers, particularly Jefferson and John Adams.
6. What was your favorite
political TV program? HARDBALL, with
Chris Matthews.
7. How did you become
involved in the (Reform) Party?
I was the guy who originated and was the driving force in
the draft Ross
Perot campaign back in June, 1991
8. Who are your political
mentors? What are some of your favorite
political quotes?
C'mon guys! It's late at night and I'm just back from the
campaign trail
trying to catch up on my e-mail and phone calls and just
don't have time for
this one. Wish I had a political mentor(s) but I'm afraid I
am a product of
do-it-yourself!
9. Will the U.S. invade Iraq
by December 2002? Should they invade?
Sure hope not ...not unless there is actual proof of a
clear and present
danger to the nation totally revealed to the American
public by the
president.
10. If you were in Congress today,
what would be your first bill to
sponsor?
A bill which would link social security with congressional
pensions. We
lose ours, you lose yours!! reduce ours; reduce
yours! postpone ours,
postpone yours! NO Democrat or Republican would dare propose
such a bill. They would be kicked out of the Capitol Hill
Good Ol' Boys' Club! Now, here's why it would work: NO
CONGRESSMAN WOULD DARE REFUSE TO SIGN ON TO SUCH A BILL OR
THEY WOULD BE VOTED OUT OF OFFICE THE VERY NEXT
ELECTION!!! (and, I'd be up there pointing my finger!!).
11. Why should the citizens
of the State of FL elect you on Nov. 5th,
2002?
All of the above.
12. What are three legislative
bills in the U.S. House that you support
and why?
Sorry, no time for this one. Its just too long to answer
and too late to
give my best answer.
13. What is your view on the
recent Enron debacle? Will the new federal
law be effective?
Throw all the bastards in jail after a quick and fair
trial. New federal
laws too little. too late for this gang, but hopefully will
work in the
future, IF ENFORCED!!
14. Do you support the
current Tax cuts passed by the House?
No. Too skewed to the super rich. Need to give most of the
break to
those earning less than $100,000 per year.
15. How do you improve
education in FL and around the US?
Abolish the federal Department of Education! It wasn't
until that was
established that US supremacy in quality of education
started going steadily
downhill. Nowhere in the constitution does it mandate a
national
educational system. Use the 52 BILLION dollar annual
savings to go back to
the states, proportionately.
16. What type of Health care
reform will you be a proponent for in D.C.?
Avoid at all costs going down that slippery, slidey path of
"Universal
Health Care" (nothing more than a euphemism for socialized
medicine...ask
any Canadian)
17. What did you learn being
chairman of the Reform Party?
There are unscrupulous, dirty dealing, dishonest,
self-serving and devious
people hiding in ALL political parties!.
